Lyulyakovo Wastewater Treatment Plant
In 2013, the Municipality of Ruen implemented a project titled “Construction of the Lyulyakovo Wastewater Treatment Plant.” The project is valued at 4,000,000 BGN. The wastewater treatment plant was handed over to “Water Supply and Sewerage” EAD, Burgas, for management, maintenance, and operation.
The “Lyulyakovo” WWTP treats wastewater from the sewer system of the village of Lyulyakovo. The plant’s design capacity is 2,813 PE and a hydraulic load of 675 m³/d, or an annual water volume of 246,375 m³/y.
The main treatment process takes place in the following facilities:
• coarse mechanical screen and combined mechanical treatment facility;
• biological tanks with integrated secondary clarifiers, a contact tank, and an aeration station;
• a chemical treatment plant;
• an anaerobic stabilizer;
• a decanter centrifuge.
Control is PLC-based (Schneider Electric) with a SCADA system and computer visualization.
The discharge of treated wastewater from the WWTP is gravity-fed, via a pipeline along the bank into a stream, a tributary of the “Luda Kamchia” River.
