Rosenez Wastewater Treatment Plant 1
In 2018, the Municipality of Burgas is implementing a project titled: “Water Supply and Sewerage for Rosenets Forest Park – Hija Zone – Phase 1.” The project includes the construction of the “Rosenets 1” Wastewater Treatment Plant and the “Rosenets 2” wastewater treatment plant and is being carried out with financial support from the Ministry of Environment and Water, through the Enterprise for the Management of Environmental Protection Activities. The total project budget is 3,944,603.53 BGN. The plant was commissioned in 2023 and handed over for management, maintenance, and operation to “Water Supply and Sewerage” EAD, Burgas.
The “Rosenets” 1 WWTP treats wastewater from the mountain huts area, “Rosenets” Forest Park, and property I-141. The plant’s design capacity is 1,500 PE and a hydraulic load of 267 m³/d, or an annual water volume of 94,455 m³/y.
The main treatment process is carried out in the following facilities:
• mechanical treatment—drum screen, compactor, sand conveyor, blower with aeration system;
• biological treatment – a biological tank with nitrification and denitrification zones, a secondary clarifier, and disinfection in a contact tank;
• belt filter press, flocculant preparation unit, screw metering pump for flocculant, container for dewatered sludge.
The treated wastewater is discharged from the WWTP into a dry stream that flows into the Black Sea.
