Network outages caused by heavy rainfall in the municipality of Tsarevo have been resolved

Water Supply and Sewerage EAD Burgas Promptly Repaired Network Failures Caused by Heavy Rainfall in the Municipality of Tsarevo

Due to the severe weather conditions in the Burgas region and the heavy rainfall that fell in the municipality of Tsarevo on October 3, 2025, failures occurred at the following facilities:
the Tsarevo wastewater treatment plant (WWTP),
10 sewage pumping stations serving the municipality’s population, as well as the water mains for the Vasiliko neighborhood and the village of Velika. Following the prompt response of the teams from “Water Supply and Sewerage” EAD, Burgas, by 4:00 p.m. the water main failures were repaired and operations at 6 sewage pumping stations were restored.
There are no settlements or neighborhoods in the municipality of Tsarevo with interrupted water supply. The wastewater treatment plant in Tsarevo is currently not operational, and the Burgas Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water has been notified. Once the water has drained from the facilities, an inspection will be conducted to assess the damage, and on October 6, 2025, repair work will begin to restore the plant’s operations.
The company’s emergency response teams remain on standby to intervene in the event of any new incidents, as well as to assist other government agencies as needed in addressing the aftermath of the heavy rainfall in the Burgas region.
